PROCESS

We create in community.

Alphabet Rockers create all of our content in partnership with our audience, driven by questions of belonging, inclusion and justice. We know our communities have knowledge and solutions to support the future world we want to share with our children. Through music, movement and creative workshops, our anti-racist work centers children and families, honoring and listening to the questions they hold as we develop musical responses. The process and products are intergenerational spaces for envisioning, finding joy and building cultural infrastructures of care and understanding.

Work with Alphabet Rockers

When we create, we start with the song. As a collaborative team, our music is rooted in dialogue with our audience, co-creators and collective knowledge.

Hear about our work in creating the GRAMMY-winning album "The Movement," and the focused work in co-creating the song "Strength in Numbers" with three young artists in the pandemic.

When creating our album "The Love," GRAMMY-nominated in 2020, we expanded our collaboration. We knew that to write an album on gender justice, we would need to dive in deep to listening to understand. Our goal was to embody our community's stories - and the music transformed us as it offered a lens to a culture of inclusivity, advocacy and celebration.

In 2025, we received the first ever CBS Icon for Public Service award.  The news story shares more about our creative process - which is used with people of all ages in order to bring us closer together in understanding, uplifting our voices, and finding common threads of unity.
