Alphabet Rockers launches hip hop music classes in San Francisco with our friends at seesaw in March – and were recently struck with the inspiration at a local gallery called SoleSpace to create a workshop for dads and kids. I (Kaitlin) am a proud auntie, and I know my sister-in-law has amazing times on the Friday mornings she gets to go to music class with her little girl. My brother? He sadly can’t ever make these, due to his job always being onsite Monday-Friday. He makes up for it on the weekends, when he and his daughter go on walks, create adventures (I believe the D&D destination is often involved, as it is for many Massachusetts natives!). So I thought, what if there was a class just for dads – on a Saturday – that they could go with their little ones. And this workshop was born, with the gracious vision of the owner at SoleSpace, an awesome dad. (The workshop of course is open to ANY parents/aunties/uncles/grandmoms etc. who really want to create a fun musical memory with the children who bring music into their lives!)
